If you want to play poker then you must want to win and bring the money home.

Winning poker is all about getting the prize money. It is not about playing to win a bunch of poker titles from different tournaments. In one way or another, these might happen but this is now how and why you play to win. Winning poker is the science and the art of taking more money that what you put on risk on the poker table. You risk your money in very calculated ways and aim to end up with more money than when you started the game.

Some players will say that they are not playing for money, then they might be playing for something else, like their ego or some other goals.

Self confidence is vital in winning poker while playing to feed your ego will not do your game any good.

You really do not have to care why other players play poker but if you want to win and make most out of your game, you need to be honest and be motivated to play for money. Your ego should be somewhere else so you will not be distracted while playing. Playing for ego is wasting your time when you can be winning spendable money all along.

People who are reading this right now may also think playing for money does not conflict with playing for one’s ego. But you should remember that the right thing for your ego might not be the right stuff for your bankroll. When you play for your ego, you will have the tendency to play way above what your bankroll can take, play too long, defend blinds against specific opponents, or acting differently against some opponents.

What is important is that you play poker to win.

Poker Player Profile: Mike Matusow has earned for himself the nickname called Mike “ the mouth” Matusow. And mind you, he has done apt justice to it. He is one of the top notch poker players in the world today. If one ever gets a chance to play poker with him even for a few moments, they realize within no time what they are up against. He loves the game and the action and the money that he can rake in as the win. The wins for Mike Matusow has amounted to thousands and thousands.

The best thing about Mike Matusow is that he goes on to strategize and ensures that what you see is the best of poker being played. The rounds of applause that he generates for the wins are to be seen to be believed.

There are several times that Mike Matusow has appeared on television discussing the game. There have been several episodes that have gone on to feature him and the battles on the poker battlefield that he has won. He has been faced by opponent Greg Reynour several times and he might not have fared as well as he would have liked to with him. He has also discussed about how the game of poker and the good that he made in it has changed his life forever.

Mike Matusow was known to have lived in the fast lane. However, his arrest for buying drugs and then the jail term for six months has changed all of that. Now, Mike Matusow concentrates on the game of poker and winning and has put the thought of drugs and the fast life way behind him.

Mike Matusow is one poker player who is greatly emotional and that was seen in the year 2004 when he cried during the tournament. The term that is associated with him greatly is the meltdown wherein he is doing really great in the game and everything is going all hunky dory and then suddenly all that he does is to blow it up for nothing. He did get into trouble for using the F word and heaped on himself penalty after penalty. But, the spectators loved his gumption and stood by his side for that. Mike Matusow continues to be one poker star that many a spectator come by to specially watch him play.

At present, Mike Matusow lives in Las Vegas and has the term of being the best of Omaha Hi Low (also called Omaha 8) players around not only in the country but in the entire world. He started from really humble begins as a dealer in one of the casinos in LA and rose to these heights when he decided to take the leap of faith for himself and ended up playing the game. He has been able to stand by the big games in the world of poker and has been able to inch his way right up to the top rung.

Phil, you’re a champ — and Tom “Durrrr” Dwan is a donkey.

Or is he?

This is what the comments say:

The reason Phil is outta line is because Dwan did exactly what anyone else would do. Nothing wrong. Hellmuth would never muck 10s pre flop to Dwan! Plus if you like what you see when the cards are flipped, it’s stupid to blame bad play! He’s unlucky and can’t take it

_________________________________________
dwan is NOT a good tourney player but he is one of the best cash game player and online player….he ends up wit over 200K almost every cash game session…dwan is a good poker player because he wins at it….he will be here longer than 5 years….i kno Bad beats hell i kno how bad beats work….its a regular on Full Tilt but hellmuth always cries on bad beats but never complains when he sucks out

_________________________________________
If you play poker consistantly as a reg. you’d know, that regs. would rarely ever bitch about beats..

You say, show you a good loser? Go to any online Reg.. lol, too make that comment your experiences in poker must of been at lowish limit stakes, without a proper bankroll, and when your AA losses to 34s, you flame him for being a “donkey”

Heh all i’m saying is, (excluding Hellmuth) If you think complaining/being a bad loser, is normal in poker, then your probably a fish.. TBH

Peter Eastgate was born on December 13, 1985. His hometown is Dalum in Denmark. Right since the time that Peter Eastgate was in school he was really fascinated with numbers and the things that he could do with them. That is one of the main reasons why he chose to go on to study economics at Aarhus University.

Finally, as luck and fortune would have it, when he witnessed a game of poker the numbers involved in it caught his attention and it was never to let it go. This fascination for poker made him drop out of college and to take up the game of poker on a professional and full-time basis.

Peter Eastgate built for himself a really high poker bankroll. This is what enabled him to be able to play for high stakes cash games that might not have been otherwise possible. Peter Eastgate has been able to perform really well in short-handed and heads-up play. That is when he decided to move on to live play. That is what made him get ready to be able to face the challenges of the 2008 WSOP. Then he was 22-years old and able to get past 6,843 other players and made his way to the November Nine in the WSOP Main Event that year. This was certainly a great achievement for Peter Eastgate.

And, when he returned to Las Vegas in November, he beat Ivan Demidov in the heads-up match. This is what got him a win of $9,152,416 and he went on to become the youngest Main Event winner at the time.

Peter Eastgate has added an 18th place finish at the WSOP Europe Main Event to his resume (and he was the youngest winner until Joe Cada won the 2009 WSOP Main Event). Then came the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure cash and side event win for $343,000. In the 2009 WSOP Main Event he was able to finish at 78th place. Later on in the same year 2009, Peter Eastgate was able to finish fifth at the 2010 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

He has thirteen cashes to his name and a total winnings of $11,311,881. At First Place Finishes he was second and has one WSOP bracelet to his name.Tthe ProRank 1 Position for him is at 312.

The last event that he participated in was the NBC National Heads up Championship in which he stood 8th. This was held on March 5, 2010 and the amount that he earned himself for this was $75,000. This was quite a substantial win that came his way.

The nickname that Peter Eastgate has for himself is a Young Danish pro. He has certainly been able to carve out a niche for himself especially at so young an age. He has gone about to become the youngest player to win the Main Event. That is when he went on to beat Phil Hellmuth’s record setting victory at age 24. When Peter Eastgate went on to defeat Ivan Demidov he was able to earn for himself a huge win of $9,152,416.

Peter Eastgate is considered to be a great professional online poker player with great expertise, experience and strategies up his sleeves. He participates in most Internet pro poker games in Denmark and is a force to reckon with.
